What is elderberry good for?

Elderberry, or berries from Sambucus nigra, has been prized for centuries in traditional immune support.* The berries contain anthocyanins, flavonoids with antioxidant properties.* Anthocyanins are the deep red, purple, and blue pigments that give elderberries their dark, intense purple shade. In fact, the darker the berry, the more anthocyanins it contains.
