High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) testing provides a detailed chemical fingerprint of the ingredient for comparison against certified botanical reference standards. The ingredient

Forskohlii is a tropical perennial in the mint family that grows to about two feet tall. Some wild populations exist in Himalayan foothills, but commercial supply is mostly farm-grown.

The plant is known for its aromatic leaves, tuberous roots, and purple-blue flowers. Roots are harvested once mature, typically after six to nine months of growth. Roots are manually dug up, cleaned, and dried. Dry roots are then used for extract production, especially for the active compound forskolin. Unlike many herbs, forskolin is not consumed as a whole food—it’s only used as an extract, typically in capsules or tinctures. Forskohlii has been used in Ayurvedic practices for over 3,000 years. In addition, it is planted ornamentally in gardens, not just for wellness but for its beautiful, vibrant green leaves and purple flowers.
